i don't want to get off on the wrong foot with you guys and have you think that i'm some kind of detox freak, but i do have one more fantastic cleanse for you! it's as easy as drinking a glass or two of water--literally!

i've been trying really, really hard lately to lead a healthier lifestyle { i haven't smoked a cigarette in nearly four days... anyone wanna pat me on the back?! }, and as all of you know, drinking water is key to that. however, i am literally the worst water drinker of all time. if you aren't chanting "chug! chug! chug!" and pumping your fists in my face, i'm never going to finish that bottle of water. unless there's lemon in it...
so if you're like me, go on and pull out your pitcher and fill that baby with some fresh water 'cause it's about to get tasty in here!

get yourself one whole lemon and slice that puppy thin!
then go on and slice up one half of a fresh cucumber as well.

and last but not least, add a couple of sprigs of mint. all of the recipes i consulted suggest i add about 10 leaves of mint to my pitcher, but i decided not to count and stop adding leaves when i could smell the mint as clearly as i could smell the cucumber and lemon, and man! is it delicious!

lemon is a great antioxidant, and it helps to boost weightloss. the mint adds a touch of sweetness { without the caloric value! } and also helps to settle the stomach and aid in digestion. and cucumber is wonderful for rehydration in case you had one too many glasses of chardonnay last night!

Time For A Little Unwind...

With the changing of the seasons, it seems that everyone has been feeling a little under the weather. I know that I certainly have been feeling a bit out of it lately. I think the perfect home cleansing recipe for getting yourself back in shape might just be a really, really hot bath. I pulled a few ingredients together to make the perfect { dare I say it...} bath salt detox.

Now seeing as I have a date with a very lovely boy this evening, I won't be able to return the verdict until tomorrow night, but I promise to share with you the outcome! As well as another way to cleanse yourself and pull those toxins out!

{ I found the idea for this lovely detox bath salt from Katie's Pencil Box, who got the ingredients from here! }

Until then...

P.S. Let's get started off the right way, and follow me on Bloglovin'! Leave a comment with your blog, and I would be delighted to follow back!

Why, Hello There!

Today is a very, very chilly, rainy, gloomy Spring day in Texas, so I decided what better time than now to start making the switch...
I have made the very brave decision of moving my sweet little blog from my extremely familiar territory of Tumblr over to the unknown, Blogger. Slowly, but surely, I am learning everything I need to know to make the switch permanent and fruitful.
On Blogger, I plan on expanding Love Always, Lola to help expand my creativity, and hopefully inspire some within my followers and readers as well. I have some fun DIY and crafts planned, as well as some other exciting things to share with you!

But since I am new to you all, I'll take a quick moment to introduce myself a little bit better.
My name is Caroline. I'm 19 years old { 20 in May! }, and I live in Dallas, Texas, but dream day and night of New York City. I'm a little girl with a need much bigger than myself to travel, see the world, and explore both it and myself.

I love my dogs, books, iced coffee, fabulous music + fabulous musicals, my dogs { did I mention them already? }, and Vogue magazine. I started Love Always, Lola, first as a fashion blog { which is still a work in progress }, secondly, to talk to you and share with you the things that I love { such as my dogs... }, and thirdly { as I'm finally coming to realize } to release some creative tension that I've been hoarding for way too long now.

So, I really hope that you enjoy what Lola and myself have to share with you, and I would love to hear from you!
